Maarten is a Director Health Economics & Outcomes Research at Pharmerit International Rotterdam. He holds a M.Sc. degree in econometrics and management science from the University of Rotterdam.
Maarten has extensive experience with modeling including Markov models, discrete event simulation, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling, meta-analysis, indirect comparisons, mixed treatment comparisons and Bayesian statistics. Maarten has applied his statistical and mathematical skills in disease areas such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, pain and hemophilia, among others. He has extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, R, WinBugs and Visual Basic. Maarten has experience in communicating health-economic models and results to non health economists by giving presentations to clinical experts throughout Europe, including Germany, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Turkey, UK and Baltic states among others.
