Kathryn Lasch, Ph.D., is Executive Director of Patient-Reported Outcomes Research based in the Boston, MA office. At Pharmerit, she utilizes her extensive experience and state-of-the-art knowledge to conduct, analyze, and write quantitative and qualitative research. She provides extensive experience in the selection, development and validation of Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) questionnaires.
She has written the PRO component for evidence dossiers for the FDA and EMA and has assisted pharmaceutical companies through the approval process of the FDA, including participating in Type B and Type C meetings. Dr. Lasch has worked in the field of oncology with a special focus on pain and other quality of life issues since 1991, when she was a Research Scientist at the Health Institute of the New England Medical Centre and Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Pharmerit Dr. Lasch was a Director and then Vice-President of Patient Reported Outcomes at Adelphi Values (formerly Mapi Values). She is nationally and internationally known for her methods to use qualitative data to develop items for PRO questionnaires and has made presentations at both national and international conferences on several conditions and diseases including but not limited to pain, cancer and cancer-related fatigue, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, HIV, Paediatric and Adult Restless Legs Syndrome, and Major Depressive Disorder. Dr. Lasch holds a PhD degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan, and has completed postdoctoral training in epidemiology at Yale University.
