Najida Begum, PhD
Najida studied at Sheffield Hallam University for her first degree in mathematics and then went on to do a MSc in Data Analysis, Networks and Nonlinear Dynamics at the University of York, where her thesis integrated bioinformatics and mathematical concepts.
Najida has recently submitted her PhD thesis at Loughborough University. The thesis investigated mathematical modelling of dermatological disease and recovery, focusing primarily on normal and chronic wounds where key characteristics perturbing the healing course, such as vasculature insufficiency and infections were identified. Possible treatments were also applied to the chronic wound scenarios as a means to assess the possibility of retrieving normal healing behaviour.
Najida’s main responsibilities will include health economic model development and model analysis, but she will also be responsible for data gathering, data analysis, dissemination of results, and day to day communication with clients. |
